AFTER SCHOOL CARE  

At the Y, kids have the opportunity to experience physical and engaging activities that encourage them to make friends, have fun, and get active!  Through guided play, children learn to respect themselves and others, work out their differences, and discover the value of friendship. Homework help, arts and crafts, games, and outdoor activities--all under the guidance of caring employees--are available in the Y's program, open to children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. After School Care will start on August 2nd this year. The program will take place at the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA. We will be offering after school care pick up at the following locations:

  • Athens City Middle School
  • Athens City Intermediate School
  • Athens City Primary School
  • Riceville Elementary School 

We will also provide After School programming for any family who is able to pick their child up and transport them to the YMCA for programming, also known as parent drop off. 


Need to Knows:

  • After School Care will not start until August 2nd. It takes place at the YMCA.
  • Registration will take place online along with paperwork to turn in via email or at the front desk. Check out the registration checklist.
  • Child care will only be provided for Kindergarten through 8th grade. 
  • We will notify you of days YMCA After School Care will be closed and when Schools Out Camp will be offered or closed. 
  • Our team communicates with parents/guardians through the Remind App. You will receive the link upon registration.
  • We will offer 5 day rates only this year.

2024-2025 After School Care Rates

Member:            $46/weekly rate per child

Non-Member:     $59/weekly rate per child  

Registration fee per child: $30

  • A 15% sibling discount is available for each additional child within the same household.  
  • We offer Financial Assistance Scholarships through our Open Door Program. You will need to submit a new Financial Assistance Application for the 2024-2025 school year. You can find the application on the button below or request a copy at the YMCA.

ONLINE ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • You can access your account to update payment information, update your address, and authorized drop-offs/pick-ups. If you have registered for a YMCA program in the past then you will already have an online account. Do not set-up a new account.
