Methods of Payment
Membership dues can be paid in one of two ways:
1) MONTHLY: Automatic Electronic Draft through your checking account or credit card on the 2nd or 17th of each month. A $10 fee will be charged for insufficient funds.
2) ANNUAL: Payment in full by cash, check or credit card. Please note there is a $20 fee for all returned checks.
In order to more quickly serve you, feel free to print out a copy of the Membership Application and fill it out prior to your arrival at the Y. A member of our Front Desk team will ensure all necessary information is present, but please try to fill it out in full. We have applications available at the Front Desk as well if you are unable to print and prepare this before your visit.
Your Y membership card must be scanned upon entry to the facility. It also verifies your agreement to receive the benefit of membership and abide by the rules and policies of the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA. Please present your card every time you enter the facility.
Don’t want to carry your card around with? Download the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA mobile app and load your barcode on your smart phone! Then bring your phone with you to scan upon entry. You can also view schedules on the go! Then, add them to your personal calendar, get updates regarding weather changes, register for events, view announcements and special offers, and browse programs/classes by day or week. Lost cards may be replaced at the Front Desk for $3. Cards that no longer work or are worn out will be replaced at no charge.
Memberships may be cancelled by giving written notice 14 days before your next draft. This is a continuous membership valid until cancelled by the member. Billing occurs monthly on the 2nd or 17th of the month.
Members in good standing at the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA can place their membership on hold for up to three continuous months due to an illness, medical procedure or relocation. This is offered at a maximum of once per 12 month period. This member must come by the Front Desk at least 5 business days before the requested hold date.
When transferring your membership from another Y, we will waive the joining fee for members in good standing, and you can begin paying your membership dues here.
We at the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA feel strongly that income should not be a barrier to becoming a member of the Y or participating in any of our programs, provided there is registration space available in a given program. Everyone is welcome.
Therefore, thanks in large part to United Way of McMinn & Meigs County and our Annual Campaign, we aim to offer financial support to anyone in our community whose income doesn’t allow for membership, swim lessons, youth sports, camp, preschool, after-school care, and so much more. Anyone can apply to receive financial assistance (for either membership OR programs) through this program. Eligibility for assistance and the amount of financial support that can be given is determined on an individual basis. For more information and instructions on how to apply, click here.
