Our aquatics program offers a variety of classes for all ages and opportunities for open swim for our members. Take a look at our classes below to find one that best fits your needs!
Classes $5 per Non Member
Use the resistance and buoyancy properties of water in a challenging workout to burn fat and increase muscle tone and strength with less impact on the joints.
A fun class designed specifically for senior citizens to improve flexibility, muscle tone, coordination, and strength. Non-swimmers are welcome.
SUMMER SWIM LEAGUE May 30- July 29
The noncompetitive league meets from the end of May until the first of August. Swimmers, ages 5-18, are encouraged to join the team in order to gain more skill, technique, and confidence in the water. Practices and meets take place at the YMCA. Signups will be available in April/May. Swimmers will be placed on a team that practices Tuesdays/Thursdays at either 9 am, 4:30 pm or 6:45 pm. Clinic begins May 30- June 1. Ages 5-8 at 4:30 pm, Ages 9-12 at 5:15 pm. Ages 13-18 at 6 pm. Practices start the following week with coaches calling during clinic about times. Sibling discounts available at $10 per child. Our YMCA swim program is designed to meet the needs of each child whether they are just learning to swim or they are learning advanced water skills. Participants must register in advance at the front desk. These classes will be offered with a minimum of three participants.
SWIM SCHOOL (ages 8 - 14): The school offers instruction on competitive swimming techniques as well as the four strokes of the sport. Sessions are for experienced swimmers, ages 8-14 years old. Swimmers can attend 1 or 2 days per week for the month. Mondays at 5:15 pm and/or Wednesdays at 4:15 pm. This class will take a hiatus from June and until the first of August.
PARENT-TOT (ages 6 months to 3 years): The parent and child participate in this 30-minute water adjustment class. Help your baby develop a positive attitude toward the water and prepare him or her for instruction in later years. Parent-Tot will be offered in May-July at 4 classes/2 weeks. Classes start the first and third Tuesday of each month.
BEGINNER GROUP LESSONS (ages 3 to 14): Youth learn personal growth and water safety, stroke development, rescue, diving fundamentals, and water games. The class meets for 40 minutes in 8 total classes for two weeks. In June and July, Lessons are offered at 10 am, 4:15 pm, and 5:15 pm on a two week basis- Mondays through Thursdays.
